Move E-mail addr info from Contacts to Personal Address Book ?

I'm using
- Outlook 2000 (9.0.0.2711)
- Windows 2000 (Ver. 5.0 Build 2195 SP4)

Question:
- Is there a way to import my e-mail address information
from "Contacts" (Outlook Addres Book)
into a "Personal Address Book" (mailbox.PAB) file ?

Oh, and BTW, if you use Internet mode (see help, about) a PAB can not be
used.
 
Why would you want to?
PAB's are no longer in use and were replaced by the Outlook Address Book 5
years ago.

OK's guys, you've alle convinced me that it's
not a good idea yo move the adresses into a
Personal Address Book (.PAB). So I won't, then.

The reason was that I'd like to access the same
set of Contacts from two different Outlook logon
identities, as my wife and I log on as two different
users, using two different *.pst files for storing messages.

So, how then, can we both gain access to the same set
of e-mail addresses / Contacts ?

You can't, unless you both want to use the same PST file.
Which mail support mode of Outlook 2000 are you using--Internet Mail Only or
Corp/Workgroup?

What a pity !
(We wish to keep our message folders in separate .pst files).

We're using Internet E-mail only (on a home computer,
over an ISDN connection).

Thanks. In alternative (2) above, how do I copy the contents of
the Contacts folder in one PST file into
the Contacts folder in another PST file ?

(Once you start another instance of Oulook it omits the Login
form and enters the Login Ident from the first instance, resulting
in access to only one PST file (and thus, one Contacts folder)).

When you cioy, will the contents merge, and duplicates be discarded ?

Look for the name and location of the PST in one profile.
Logon to the other profile.
Use the File > Open command to open the other PST file.

Delete the contents of one PST and copy the contents from the other PST file
to the one you just cleared. This method is better than trying the import
routine, which can cause data corruption or duplicates.
