Move data from Access97 MDE to Access2000

Hi,

a friend of mine gave me a ACCESS 97 MDE file that is full of data that
i need but i have ACCESS 2000 on my pc.

Access 2000 says that he can not open that file... what can i do?

Also i have that application for Access 2000 but, in this case, i need to
import the data from che Access 97 MDE to the new Access 2000 MDE.

Is it possible?

Access 2000 cannot open an MDE in version 97, but you should be able to link to or
import the tables from the 97 MDE. This would give you the data, but nothing else.
 
Ops, i forgot to tell that the MDE file has some menus hidden... and press
the shift key when i open the MDE doesnt work...

I can import the data from the access97 MDE to a MDB file... but i need to
import them into the Access 2000 MDE...
