Robin Looty

recently i have started having problems when using my
mousewheel in games. When ever i try to use the
mousewheel, i find that as the mousewheel is used, it
sometimes minimizes the game that i am playing, i have
been unable to find any pattern in the times it leaves
the game and the times it doesn't. the games that i have
found it happening in are:-
battlefield 1942
Battlefield vietnam
Painkiller
Hidden and dangerous 2

please can someone help me? :-(

Hi Robin,

In Control Panel / Mouse options see if you can
Set your scroll wheel option to "AutoScroll". :-)

I suspect that it's set differently and causing these issues.

Hi Robin,

The next thing I would attempt is to press CTRL+ALT+DEL
to get to Task Manager, and End Task the pointer / mouse
software from the list of running processes. Hope that works! :-)

Hi Robin,

Let's try identifying and stopping the software the mouse
may be using. See my previous post for how to details. :-)

What kind of mouse, Logitech? If so...try either updating the Logitech
mouse drivers, or un-install them completely. It will still work, using the
default Microsoft drivers, buy may loose a few options, that are most likely
unneeded.

If it's logitech I know they frequently add game shims for the mouse wheel
behavior. Disabling the Logitech software or updating to a version with
the correct shim fixed my problems.
