Mouseover problem in Internet Explorer

I am having a problem with mouseover not working in my Favorites menu in IE.
It used to be that when I dragged my mouse over one of the folders under
Favorites, the links in that folder would appear as a list. Now, when I drag
my mouse over the folder, nothing happens. I need to click on the folder to
view the contents--and the contents appear in a new Windows XP window. I
really don't like this.

I've tried manipulating the Favorites menu (renaming it and rebooting--but
you can't make a copy and then delete the original--Windows won't let you).
For some unknown reason, this did the trick once before, but doesn't seem to
help now.

Does anyone have tips to solve this problem?

Try:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#favorites
"Internet Explorer Favorites are missing/empty".
