Mouse stops working

I use a USB mouse. A few minutes ago, I came back to my computer after
a while and the first screen of the New Hardware Wizard was up -- and
the mouse had stopped working. I rebooted, and now it's fine. The
travel mouse I have -- which used to work fine -- no longer works. Any
ideas what might be going wrong?

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the USB Root Hub device(s),
Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers
again automatically.

Open Device Manager, open the properties on your USB ports, click the
Power tab, and deselect "Allow the computer to turn off this device to
save power".
