Mouse stoped working with PS/2

Hi, I was using Microsoft USB wheel optical mouse with SP/2 connector.
Recently stoped working,and the light is off on the mouse, I tried another
SP/2 mouse, still does not work, but when I connect the mouse to USB port,
works fine. I think could be power supply problem, any idea?

It could also bet that the PS/2 (not SP/2) port for the mouse is now
"dead.'
 
SP/2 port doesn't always supply enough power to drive an optical mouse.
I even bought a new one thinking the old one was faulty and there was
nothing wrong with it.
