my mouse stoped working after your last update. I now
have to shut down and restart my PC to get the mouse
back. this is not the frist time this has happened.
Please correct your updates so we do not lose the mouse.
And what can I do to get my mouse to work with out havein
to restart my Pc every time?

If you have special drivers or software installed for your mouse, try
reinstalling the drivers or software. If you have access to another mouse,
you might try installing that mouse on the system to see if it has the same
issue. If reinstalling the drivers or software doesn't resolve the issue,
you might check the mouse manufacturer's website for updated software as the
update you installed might have changed your system's environment enough to
cause a conflict with the current mouse drivers or software.

Conversely, perhaps you have some older or dated application on your system
that is the cause of the conflict. The system worked fine before the update
but as I mentioned above, the update may have changed the environment and
borderline software or hardware may have been pushed beyond their
tolerances, thus causing this issue.

You should understand, that some updates, such as security updates cannot be
tested across a large enough test bed to reflect all users and their
hardware configurations. Note, because you are having the problem doesn't
mean everyone is having a problem with that particular update. More exotic
software or more dated systems might be the source of such issues, dated
hardware, any number of possibilities might be the cause of such issues.

Also, you need to realize, you are not talking directly to Microsoft. While
some Microsoft employees do occasionally post to these newsgroups, these
groups are essentially peer to peer support. And to be clear, I don't work
for Microsoft either.
