Mouse Shutdown

Help please.

I was cleaning up my system and may have deleted something but don't
think so. However I now have the following problem.

When I shutdown Windows XP, everything goes well and it appears to
shutdown properly. However the light on the USB optical mouse stays
on. Coincidentally it triggers a significant amount of radio
interference on my radio (which was the reason I became aware). This
interference and the light in the mouse disappear when i pull the
power cord from the computer. Replacement and startup works normally.
I have swapped the mouse and the same problem exists.

If after shutdown, I disconnect the mouse the noise stops.

I have restored Windows to a few days ago and it has no effect

Disconnecting the mouse to listen to the radio is not a preferred
solution.

Anybody got any clues??

Shield the radio antenna from the rf signal of the mouse. Put some grounded
object between the antenna and the mouse.
