mouse probs

i run win xp home, every so often the mouse i use:
intellimouse optical, stalls. i get a double bonging-sort
of sound, and the mouse freezes or acts goofy for a sec.
i just replaced my mobo because i thought that the usb
ports were failing on the old one, because the same thing
would happen, but it would crash the system before, now
it hasnt done that yet with new mobo. what the hell is
going on on my system? i cant find anthing running that
doestnt belong in the task manager, and i've disabled
messenger in admin controls. i run kazaa++ occasionally,
pop up stopper, zone alarm, a spyware program,and icq,
could there be something that piggybacked in on one of
these progs?

i also ran a virus scan, nothing there.

My problem is just the same as below. I would be grateful
for any help. I am not quite au fait with using mouse to
navigate. Please reply to (e-mail address removed) as

Get rid of Kazaa for a start, it comes with more baggage

than you can shake a stick at. Look in Google for a
programme called 'Kazaa begone' or something like that,
then d/l Adaware, Spybot Search and Destroy and Spyware
Blaster, also get yourself AVG anti-virus and Outpost
Firewall, dump Zone Alarm it has a mind of it's own. All
the above can be found on Google and they are all FREE!!
All your symptoms sound like Spyware to me.
