I just loaded XP pro after running home edition for a while and now my mice
(corded and wireless) seem to have a mind of their own. The mouse randomly
selects objects (i'm almost afraid to go into explorer because it's grabbing
whole drives to move at random). When using outlook the mouse thinks it
needs to select a piece of mail wether I click on it or not. In IE it
randomly grabs objects as I move the cursor over them. I tried updating
drivers, different mice and the problem seems to come and go but it doesn't
appear to be hardware related. Does anyone have a clue what's causing this
and how to fix it?

Try deleteing your mice out of the device properties
reboot the computer and let it redetect and reinstall the
drivers. You may just have a corrupted driver.

I removed all drivers/mouse related software and it seems to be
working (at the moment). Going to the control panel it thinks it's a
plain vanilla two button mouse running off microsoft 5.1.2600.0
drivers but all the buttons and functions are working.

Now i can get onto the next "glitch", even with the display and power
settings at always on the display shuts down after a while and I get
some display flutter when hovering over items in the start/programs
area. The display will come back on after moving the mouse.
