Seems the mouse freezes every few seconds or so.
I have changed over to a different mouse but the same thing happens.
Could this be a software problem?
O/S = XP-Home(SP3)

I doubt the mouse is freezing, more likely a problem with the PC and you can't do anything till it catches up.

Mind you, I hate the Logitech's drivers, bloody crap, bloated & slow.

So, what's the mouse called? Mine is a "oh-for-****s-sake" mouse ... ;)

More details needed. :p

Does the mouse freeze for just an instant, or is it for a good few seconds at a time? If it's for a few seconds, does pressing caps lock on your keyboard instantly illuminate the light telling you it's on? (sounds daft, but there's reasoning behind it ;).

It's a Logitech USB Optical Mouse.
It was freezing for a few seconds then fine then freezing again.
However since changing over to a unbranded USB optical mouse & turning on today all is fine.
May need to see how it goes today & if it freezes again follow Ian's comment.

Cheers for the input guys.;)

Update: When the mouse freezes caps lock light does light up when pressed?

Have changed over from USB to PS2 and all seems OK at the moment!

Changed to a non-branded PS2 Optical Mouse and all OK for 10 minutes before the problem happens again!

Seems all very strange!!!

That’s good then it must be a software issue. Have you tried closing down any background programmes that you don’t need and see if it still does it?

Done that.
It seems OK at the moment, so trying it in Safe Mode might have helped?
PC is very unreliable though & the front USB ports gave up last year!
Back USB ports have had issues with them & it might be time to get a newer pc!!!

Its un likley that safemode has changed anything but it might have done.

If you have had other issues with USB ports then it could be the computer its self. How old is the PC?

IIRC this is an old Logi driver bug, i had it once ages ago, update your drivers. :)

Agreed, I have a Logitech - and i dont have any problems like that. Update drivers. :)
