Mouse pointer is moving itself

Hi,

here and there my mouse pointer starts moving itself and I
can not stop it and gain back control. Mostly I have to
shut down and reboot - sometimes three-four times. System
is Win2000 on a Dell Laptop - it happens when within the
docking station or stand alone.

Hi Peter,

I have the same problem, it's either your BIOS, Touchpad driver or
poor contact inside the laptop. My mouse becomes possessed if I gra
both front corners and twist the case (not that I do this normally).
Doing the 'twist' or giving it a LITTLE tap either side of the touc
pad resolves the issue most times for me.

I have upgraded bios, touchpad driver and had keyboard replaced and m
mouse still gets possessed.

I live with it now.
