Mouse over text or image - show text box

I have a problem....which I am sure someone has a solution.

We have an online shop we wish to develop...for the first time.
Each product (hair products) has a name, description, benefits how to use
and fragrance.
Because there is so much information and we want to list all the products on
one page we wish to have mouse over or click text boxes to provide extra
information to the reader.
Should we be looking at flash or a javascript effect to provide a text box
on mouseover or click ?
Ideally press a button saying "more info" and a box drops down
Any suggestions or guidence welcome.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~You could use the items you suggest, but if you
have a lot of info, it may be simpler just to list all items on the
left, an image and name, and on the right of each, have the info, all
in tables, or.... do this, but at the top of page list all products
with links to the detailed info further down the page...
