I have an IBM mouse with a scroll wheel that worked perfect in Windows ME.
I completely dumped the system and installed Windows XP from scratch, but
not my wheel does not work on my mouse! I have tried numerous things:

1) I went into device manager and it reports a Microsoft PS/2 Mouse
2) "Assume wheel is present" is selected under the mouse device manager
properties
3) I uninstalled the mouse, rebooted and it was found/installed again by
Windows XP but still no wheel function!

In fact, when I goto the control panel and select the mouse, I do not have
a Scroll tab in the mouse properties! Aargh!

Any ideas?? Please??

Thank you in advance.

How was the mouse identified under Windows ME? Did it show up in the
device manager as an IBM mouse? Perhaps some device specific drivers
are in order to get it working fully.

You might try the latest IntelliPoint software as well:

Let us know how it goes, and good luck. I know it drives me nuts to
use a mouse without a scroll wheel.
