mouse no longer a hardware option in device mgr help!!

dissapearing mouse

All of a sudden my mouse is no longer responding, and is
no longer listed under device mgr. I redid my os (xp pro)
and it's still not there. does anyone know what the hell
has happened? I appreciate all the help.
 
If it's a PS2 Mouse maybe the solder leads on the PS2 Connector are
loose on the Motherboard. Did you try a different
Mouse?
