This feature is called X-Mouse and may have been accidentally turned on. You can turn it off using
TweakUI. Under TweakUI, navigate to Mouse >> X-Mouse and uncheck 'Activation follows mouse'.
I'm having the same problem as seajay's friend -- on a brand-spanking-new t41 thinkpad with windows xp professional. i downloaded tweakUI to see if that would solve the problem...but x-mouse wasn't turned on in the first place. Any other thoughts from anyone? I'm completely stumped, as are the IBM folks, and it's driving me crazy
