Mouse halted

Hi,

I don't know if this is the right Newsgroup, but any help will be
appreciated.



I have two problems using my computer:



1. The hard drive is working every few moments for 5 to 10 second without
any application in use and no Internet activity.



2. My mouse is halted for a few second when the hard drive is in use or
some times even when the hard drive is idle



Using windows xp



Using Norton Internet security 2008.



Any help?

This is quite normal -- you probably have some background process
doing this. For instance, do you have Windows Indexing Service
running?

This seems less normal to me. If you don't have *current* virus
protection, install some.(*) And run a complete scan.


(*) One good choice among others is AVG Free, http://free.grisoft.com
