Mouse freezes and then you have to reboot

I have checked everything in my computer. Hardware and
software to see if there are any conflicts. None exist.
This is not a USB mouse as it uses another port. The
drivers are up to date.

It gets very frustating to have to reboot within seconds
or in the middle of some work. It has been a constant
thing ever since I have owned this computer.

Is there some way this can be prevented?

Hi,

If the mouse totally freezes then it sounds like a hard lock...which equals
a hardware problem of some sort.

Try using a standard ps/2 mouse and see if the issue still occurs.

If not, then a problem with the usb drivers or the ports themselves could
be suspect.
