I have bought numerous Optical Microsoft Intellimouse but they all seem
to fail after a week or so. The light simplily goes out and it stops
working. You pull the mouse plug from out of the back of computer and
plug it back in and it's starts working for 5 mins or 10 mins until the
next time. Can someone tell me WTF is with that? I run XP 2.8 P4...

If it is a USB mouse go into Device Manager and under Universal Serial Bus
Controlers right click each USB Root Hub and in the Power Mangement -
Uncheck Allow computere to turn off this device to save power.

Hey Ronk.
I wish the missus and myself talked to you about 3 mouse's (mice?) ago.
Done what you said and haven't had a drama since.
Appreciate the fact that you took the time to answer
Cheers.

Also I have found that these don't work well connected to PS2 port using
adapter, it seems the PS2 port can't supply enough power for it. I too
found out the hard way after buying a new one.

Hey Geoff and Lisa,

Glad I could help.
Can't beat these newsgroups for good info, and as I have found out - A good
way to learn.
