Hi,

I have WinxP Home edition with all the latest security patches.

I am experiencing a peculiar problem with my mouse. I use MS Wireless
Intellimous 2.0, with the received connected to my USB.

Very often, if I log out of one user account, I have problem entering the
Password of the Win xP User Account. The password box opens but I do not see
the flashing cursor and I am unable to enter the password with the keyboard.
I have re-boot and login.

I have checked batteries of the mouse, which are okay.

Could someone suggest a solution ?

TIA,
MPM

You probably installed IE7 - still no known fix but press CTRL + ALT + DEL
twice and you should get into the system without a problem. Chances are that
it's NOT the mouse. Just that welcome screen. Press the combo (all three
keys at once) twice, enter your user/password, and you should be okay.

Hi,

Thanks for the input. Yes, I have IE7.0 and perhaps this problem started
since the upgrade.

My wife ( Who has a non-admin, User account - as it should be ;>) ) had the
problem last evening and she tried your recommendation and she said it asked
for the Owner (Me) Password, which she does not know. I asked her if she
tried to overwrite with her login and password, which she did not. We will
try it the next time and post the result.

Cheers,

Not a problem and glad to have helped. I should probably toss a blog post up
about that. *sighs*
