mouse clicks

I would like to change the mouse clicks from two to one.
I have a Sony VAIO with Windows ME which came set with
one click operation. I cannot find a way to set my new
one with Windows XT to one click. Any help would be
appreciated.
 
XP help says this
To change the number of mouse clicks required to open items

1.. Open Folder Options in Control Panel.
a.. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
b.. Double-click Folder Options.
2.. On the General tab, under Click items as follows, click the option you
want.

That setting can be found in folder options under the

general tab
 
I am not an expert, but, have you tried going to control
panel, (press start) the to mouse and then look in the I
believe that is where you will find the option.
