Mouse and Keyboard Woes

I installed Vista it seemed with no problems. I used a Microsoft bluetooth
mouse and keyboard. The first time in Vista things seemed to work well. I
left things and Vista went to sleep. I could not get it to wake up so I
restarted (off and on) the computer. It would not recognize the keyboard
during the process where it waits for the user to select current or previous
version of windows and the mode of windows. After the countdown there
complete Vista starts to open and stops waiting for user to select the
account to open.

At this point the mouse pointer is frozen in the middle of the screen and
will not work. I replaced the bluetooth mouse and keyboard with a USB mouse
and keyboard. Both would not work.

Finally, i tried a ps/2 mouse and keyboard. They worked the first time.
Yeah. But after that Vista went to sleep and would not wake up. I restarted
but now the mouse and keyboard do not work at where you need to select the
user account.

Help.

Have you found a way out yet? I have similar problems. Since I can't use
the mouse I can't cllick to accept anything - like the license blurbs.

Have you found a work-around?

Finally, and it was't pretty. I disconnected the mouse. Sometimes when I
rebooted I was able to get the keyboard to work. I got to my computer and was
able to run Vista setup. I went through the entire installation a second time
and have been able to use the ps/2 mouse and keyboard. I believe that the
blue tooth mouse and keyboard I tried initially caused the problem.
