When I power up my stand alone machine, the mouse does not
work, I need to restart it few times before it starts to
work. I've tried 3 different mouse 2 and 3 button ones and
they give the same problem. I checked for drivers as well
and in the mouse properties it says it works just fine.
Any help/suggestions in this regard is greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance,

Is this a USB mouse? That's what I have and I have to unplug/replug
the mouse after starting the computer in order to get it to work

no its not usb, its a regular PS/2 mouse.

That sounds like a problem with your PS2 Mouseport. I think you should have
your mainboard checked.

Have you tried reinstalling the mouse drivers?
