On my tyres,it states that the tyres (knobbly type) should be inflated
to a 'minimum' of 40 psi.Anyone know why they don't give a maximum?
My next door neighbours mountain bike tyres state 50 psi minimum, yet the
tyres look identical.

I think you have posted in the wrong forum, but to answer your question,
in my experience with most tyres the max pressure is usually the minimum
pressure +20-30psi depending on the tyre. Usually with off road tyres
for maximum contact with the road/dirt you wouldn't go much higher than
the minimum pressure.

If you are still unsure you should be able to find the maximum tyre
pressure on the manufacturer's website (if they have one).

Are you looking at those tyres through the Windows of your mountain
bike?

More likely confused Ken by reading the post by a member of the Cascades
Bicycle Club.

well, if they are genuine
microsoft tires,

then the tire pressure
stated on them is the
minimal amount required
to make them roll,

albeit sluggishly.
