I'm upgrading my motherboard from an 815 Family Chipset
with a Pentium III CPU to Apollo P4X400 Chipset with an
Intel Celeron II 2.4Ghz. How can I do this without
having to reinstall XP? I've tried installing the new MB
drivers on my HD, but I can't get XP to start! I
continually get taken back to the black restore screen.

Any ideas?

Richard, WinXP is lost. It can't find all the familiar drivers that it
knows. That's why it's refusing to cooperate.
If you all ready went ahead and installed the old drive in the newer
configuration I think the only way to have a
stable system is to do a clean install of WinXP.

Hi,

You need to perform a repair install of XP.
Boot from the XP CD and press the "Enter" key to enter
setup. Press F8 key to accept the license agreement.
Select "repair" by pressing the "r" key for a repair
install. Follow the prompt to complete the installation.
After XP loaded successfully, you need to re-activate XP
and update all the patches.

Hope it helps.
