Be wary of the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

When I ran it on my XP Pro Setup, it told me that my video card (EVGA
8800GTS) was not an issue at all nor was my motherboard (Asus A8N-SLI
Deluxe), and when I tried to install Vista I had to downgrade (Asus 6600GT)
my video card so that it can be installed and booted

Your motherboard is modern and should not be an issue.
I have both an old A7N8X - Deluxe and a M2N-E (AM2) running with Vista
Ultimate and no problems.
You should check your other hardware and software as well, though.

Have you run the Vista upgrade advisor?

Yes, my audio, NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller, IEEE-1284.4 Compatible
WDM Mass Storage Device (HPH09), and printer "could be" issues. Only
Realtek RTL8187 Wireless 802.11g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network Adapter "must be
check out."
The ASUS site only has BETA drivers for the MB, which is why I didn't think
Vista would work.
What do you think now?

I think exactly the same as I did when I posted my first response.

Go to the NVIDIA site and see if they have Vista drivers for your
motherboard chipset.

Looks to me like they have WHQL certified Vista drivers for your
motherboard's chipset.

Regardless, I'll assume you realize that installing any new OS, especially
one so early in its lifecycle, is liable to be accompanied by challenges.
