Motherboard Question

Hi all,

I have an ABit AN8 Series (NF-CK804), (Socket 939) board, currently with nVidia NForce4 chipset, processor is an AMD Athlon 64 3200+. Can the processor be upgraded, if so, what are the options and potential cost?

Hiya mate yeah ya board should upgrade fine. Myabe need a BIOS update though for Dual core i'm not sure. SKT 939 is being phased out aswell so take that into consideration. There is a number of different types of board in your series this covers them all. I cant find anything on Maximum CPU type though in manual, maybe you could have a look through yourself

i'd go for an X2, you can pick up the 4200 for just over £50
