Motherboard Monitor 5 on P5AD2?

Does anyone have Motherboard Monitor 5 working correctly with the P5AD2?
I went to the MBM web site and checked the table showing correct
settings by mobo, but there was no entry for P5AD2, just P5A. I assumed
that was the one to use, but all I get is a constant reading of 127
degrees C for both CPU and case. Any suggestions?

MBM5 support has stopped, so whatever is currently on the site, is
all the support you will get. MBM5 required the author to figure out
how to get access to the device, and then find a datasheet for the
hardware monitor chip.

The P5AD2 doesn't have a picture of the motherboard in the manual,
and the picture I was able to dig up, looks like there is some kind
of Winbond 83627 in the upper right hand corner. This chip sits on
the LPC bus, and it is quite likely that, other than being confused
by the different chipset enumeration, the path via LPC to the chip
would appear the same as an 875/865 board.

Maybe the declaration of which sensor is which, needs to be changed ?
Try settings for P4C800 or P4P800 as a reference to go by. But
there are no guarantees, as it all depends on the whims of the
motherboard designer. I cannot see the full chip number on the
Winbond chip in the upper right hand corner - if it is a brand
new chip code, that will make a substantial difference to whether
this will work or not.

Asus Probe is an alternative program to use, if MBM5 doesn't work
out. Download the program from the Asus site, rather than using
any moldy versions provided on the motherboard CD.

Paul
