Lovely pics Niv, it must have been great to see those animals and their young for real. They're beautiful and definitely have the "aaahhh" factor. :D

Was this on a Safari trip while you were out there?
 
Great pics...Making me kinda home sick now...Erm sad thing is out of all those animals the only one I have ever had the pleasure of seeing is the blue crane...

Yep. Did a tour of Namibia which included three days in Etosha National Park. The park is quite big - the size of Belgium :eek: - so we didn't really have time to see all of it. It was the wrong time to see the Big Five but plenty of everything else including birds.
 
Were those snaps taken in africa ??? i'd love to go there sometime...a little jealous now. How close were you able to get??

Yep, all taken in Africa. Most in Namibia and the odd one in South Africa. Often got within a few metres and some insects, coming later, within a few millimetres.
