Please help me!?!
95% of the websites I attempt to visit come up with an
error of "Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer " However, I can search and come up
with results on Google, it's just that most of the links
I click on come up with that error message after a few
moments.
I have a relatively new system (6 mos). I have run full
virus scans and use a firewall (Norton). This has been
going on for about a week. It seems that my provider,
Cox, is not at fault. I suspect that the coincidence of
this problem arising very near the time I updated
Internet Explorer might be a clue.......????
I thank you all in advance for any comments, suggestions
or, quite frankly, sympathy! LOL

Mattie... Check and see if your system has a HOSTS file..
For NT,2000 and XP machines the HOSTS (no extension) is located in the
Windows\Sytem32\Drivers\etc folder. For other versions it is located in the
Windows folder.
The HOSTS file contains web addresses that your Browser can use to quickly
locate OR block web addresses that you type into the browser.
You can rename this file to disable it. You will have to change it from a
Read-only attribute before you do this though.
