The X1800XT looks pretty good (at $500+) but generally the new ATI line
looks like a failure. They made the same mistake NVIDIA made last year. The
went with a radical process shrink (90 nm) that was too hard to pull off in
time to compete and it runs too hot since they concentrated on MHz and not
pipelines.

Now where can I buy any member of the X1000 family right now ??
Would like overnight shipping too...............

The lifting of the NDA barrier was deliberately timed to just precede
the ATi quarterly/fiscal-year results announcement tomorrow morning.
Q4: 30 cents loss per share.......... The announcement and reviews
might stop shareholders occupying the ATi HQ building and demanding
the firing of all the top execs.

Another 'business as usual' ATi paper release... product will dribble
slowly into the channels over the next few months and the more shady
vendors plus Ebay rip-off artists will only too readily jack up prices
for the gullible who MUST HAVE a new-series ATi card RIGHT NOW..
