more versions of windows messenger?

I would like to know if microsoft is going to release an updated version of
windows messenger or they won't develop more versions? In fact Msn Messenger
goes in version 6 and winmessenger only in 4.7, and the winmessenger
references disapeared from their site.

Windows Messenger 5 will be released sometime in the next month or two, and although it will
have some features of MSN Messenger 6 (like UPnP file transfer, and TabletPC "digital ink"
support), it will not have features like Custom Emoticons, Display Pictures, a different
interface etc.

As for the website, it is http://messenger.msn.com -- as such, it is a MSN site, for MSN
Messenger.
