thanks to steve, paul, and anonymous for their reply to
my prior msg, and am going to upgrade to 512 as well as
follow their other suggestions. my next question ..
according to my specs i can only go to 512, but .. says
168pin dimm which when looking to buy shows a speed of
133mhz. i see other 256 out there with speed of say 370
but 184pin. do i have to stick with 168pin or can i do
the 184 with the faster speed? also, shd i get 1-512 or
2-256? is one brand better than the other? needless to
say, i don't know about this stuff!
thanks much.

What type of mother board do you have... that will decide
most of your questions. name, model etc.. or is
propritary what brand and model is the computer (example
COMPAQ 3P0S)

thanks .. here is my system .. it is an hp502n celeron
1.3g / 100, ram is standard 128/133sdr, max 512, speed
pc100, type sdram, dimm slots two. i bought it last yr.
under dimm requirements for hp pavilion pcs in specs i
printed beore i bought it, says they come in 72pin,
144pin, and 168pin, but now i see 184. also, i can't
tell whether i shd be looking at pc100 or pc133!! can't

Barb, it sounds like you need to purchase 2 pc100 256MB
168dimm to get to 512 on your system. That is on sale at
Staples for 49.94. It is also easy to go to
www.crucial.com and use their memory selector. I usually
purchase memory upgrades from them.

thank you soooo much. will do it today. have a staples
nearby. i sure do appreciate this group. and u.
