More than one site template

I currently have a site template and would like to add another for a special
group that wants their 'own look'. Can I have two site templates that link to
each other as well as to pages within their own ares? Or would that be a page
template? My confusion is preventing me from continueing with the development
of my site. Thank you in advance for any help you can gvie me.
 
You can have multiple page templates in a FP web site but only 1 site template
- create a subweb for the pages using the other site template
