I am trying to set up more than one profile on a Windows
NT 4.0 Server running Outlook 97 through a VPN Tunnel to a
Exchange 5.5 Server. I set it so Outlook ask for a Profile
every time you try and go into Outlook. We click on File -
Exit and Log off every time but after a while if you go
into Outlook it just goes into the last profile used, it
does not ask for the profile or username. I can only fix
this by rebooting the server but the server can not be
rebooted during the day. Does anyone know why this happens?

Generally, there is only one profile in Outlook, even
using Exchange 5.5, since I don't what OS is running on
workstations . . why ask for profile in Exchange anyway?
Usually once user logon authenticates, their associated
email account is applied and the default Outlook profile
handles whomever is logged onto that workstation, at that
time. Again not knowing which OS is running on
workstation (if 98 or 95) then you will not be able to
apply this suggestion.

Thanks for replying

We have stores across the US and each of these stores have
a NT Server with Outlook installed. The Server is just
there to run the registers. The servers are like
workstation. They are logged onto as Administrator on the
local machine. The servers connect to our network with DSL
through VPN. There are more than one person who need to
check his mail on the server, so that is why we need to
set up more than one profile, but when one person logs off
from Outlook and the next one tries to open his mail it
goes straight into the last mailbox without asking for a
username or password.
