hello all. I recently went to install an old game if you can call it that...(Star Trek:Starship Creator/Warp 2) on my windows XP,It installs perfectly but when i go to run it,...it says It cannot find the disc ,when it is in the drive all along any suggestions? Much obliged for "any" help ..TY

I am having the same problem with The 11th Hour. MS DOS based games are quirky. I got T7g to work with two shortcuts, renamed. The 11th Hour is still a hold-out.

There are a couple update files you need to be able to run 11th Hour, and
you can find them on the Internet doing a Search on Google: 11hwin.zip and
11h242.zip. Use Compatibility Mode starting with the installation, and then
double-check the settings on the link you'll use to launch the game after
you do the updates.

Thanks, Chris H.. I really want to be able to play it. Have enjoyed The 7th Guest imensley, and the sequel should be fun, too.

Got the 11hwin.zip and 11h242.zip. Then I uninstalled, then reinstalled 11th hour with compatibility wizard, and it installed perfectly. Then I used the shortcut from my desktop, and the screen went black for a few seconds, and returned to my desktop. Guess I wil have to buy an older computer with Windows 95 or 98, to play some of my games. Thanks for the help. Wish it had worked. Unless you have another suggestion? (Be nice.)

This is somewhat of a strange one. A couple years back, those two files were
made available in order to run 11th Hour on XP. Several users tried it, got
the game started, but it quit whenever they tried to work a puzzle.
Otherwise, they could roam the house, etc. I tried them and lo and behold,
it worked great for me, allowing the whole game and every aspect of it to
run all the way through, including the videos, without so much as a hiccup.
And way smoother and faster than it did in the old DOS mode years ago. The
strange part is that sometime, probably months later, I tried to run the
game again, and got the same problem the other users got, with the game
quitting to desktop when trying to start a puzzle. So, it would really be
interesting if someone knew what "went wrong". No doubt I had updated
graphics drivers and other Windows updates since it worked, but far too long
ago to determine what changed on my system to disable the game.

Kathy, I'd double-check the Compatibility settings you're using on the link
you use to launch the game. Remember, specifically to take a look at the
number of colors used and the display resolution.
