asked before but can't find post!

i'm using winxp home edition. i've a cable internet connection which uses
LAN. if i connect to internet using telephone modem side by side, will xo
utlilse the bandwidth available by both?
please advice.

Maybe. If you create routes that will use one interface over the other (
i.e. all traffic destined for 157.0.0.0 use the modem, and all traffic for
158.0.0.0 use the cable )

This would have to be manually entered and in my opinion is not worth the
effort.

By default if both are connected, then only 1 of them will be used for all
traffic.

hello dusty. i don't think u understood my question. let me explain again.
i've one home pc running winxp home edition. i've subscribed to a cable
internet service which uses my LAN. so my lan card brings me cable
internet. which is only 25Kbps. so now i need to use the telephone line too
which gives me 40kbps. that would total up to around 65.
when i've conneted using dial up my cable interent's dialer (it has a
password verification system) doesnot show the connect option. so what i do
is first connet the cable and then the dial up. i then see two internet
conntions in system tray. to avoid confusion i've not selected any as a
default. so now whenever i start a web based applications the system seems
to utlilse the dial up(as its faster!). long back i'hd read in help and
support that winxp can actually make more than 1 net connections and utlilse
total bandwidth for better speed. i don't know how to do this.
as for what u said about 'routes' i don't really undertand all that. please
help.
Neerav.
