I am using FP 2003.
I was wondering how to get a more professional looking heading at the top of
the page. Example: The Orange heading on this Microsoft office online Page.
I don't know if this has to already be in a gif file, or there is a feature
right within FP wizard to do this. Another example would be the blue heading
at http://www.softaltern.com/
Thank you in advance.

More professional than what?

What I take into consideration when designing a page / site
/ header is the color scheme and logos that will be
involved. I try to make it all coordinate when I do do the
header. Graphics usually end up being incorporated, either
for the whole header or as a color pattern on the background

You need to design these yourself in a graphics program. Frontpage doesn't
create graphics.

....and in addition, rather than try to explain how it's done...browse to the
url you listed below and click on Edit with FrontPage on IE's top tool bar,
when prompted for un/pw just click Cancel and that page will open in FP.
You'll see how that graphic is done.

Photoshop (if you got the time and money), Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Elements,
Serif Photo Plus (the free version), Ulead (I forget the exact name) and a
zillion others.

Personally, I use Photoshop for photos, Xara Xtreme for vector graphics, and
the new MS Expressions Graphics Designer (EGD) for vector/raster graphics.
EGD would be an overkill for a newbie and it's still beta, so you may not
want to delve into that right now.

You should download IrFanview (free) it's indespensible for image batch
processing, renaming resizing optimizing and limited image editing.

| Can you reccomend a simple graphics program to accomplish what I am trying
to
| do?
