I am a tech for a multi-state financial company. Suddenly, we have two
branches recieving this exact message on all their computers when the try to
print from an
FHA site. All of our branches and all the computers and our servers have
kept up with all updates and patches. Also we have tight security/firewalls.
anti-virus/anti spyware/adware/malware measures in place.

However, this puzzel is strange that it is only in TWO of our branches and
those branches are in two different cities. No other branches or our
corporate offices are affected. We thought that it may have something to do
with FHA just updating their website, but that would have affected all of our
branches.

Needless to say we have been through the registry and other possiblities
that have been shared on Websites all over the world. Microsoft has very
little about systems with XP SP2 IE-SP1 that have mshtml problems. Most of
the stuff is on IE 5.5 or systems that have not been updated or contain XP
SP2 and IE-SP1. And even then, the suggestions or patches are far and few.
And netscape works fine.

ideas would be welcome

Hi Dumfounded :-)

The full error message would be of some help, as to what it is referencing,
but, try the following and see if it will help:

As the error is only affecting two locaitons, then it is likely a local
problem which could have affected the machines in those locations:

Clean the TIF's files...

and....

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm
http://www.5starsupport.com/faq/ie.htm#14-2

Open an ms-dos prompt window (Start>Run>) and type the following and press
enter after each line. A message will appear stating that these have been
registered successfully.
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll

Also....such problems are usually caused by malware, and the only way you
can confidently say the machine is malware-free is to have your HijackThis
log reviewed by an expert.

So...when all else fails, download and run HijackThis
(http://forum.aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip)
It will help to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware.
**DO NOT post your HJT logs to this newsgroup. Please post them to one the

or

Hope this helps.
