More infected files than scanned

Unable to complete a scan. Using quickscan, takes about
a half hour and finds 340 infected files out of a scan of
160723. Then, when it seems to have scanned all files,
it goes back to the beginning. No new files scanned, but
spyware files infected is turning over like crazy. Now
up to 70000 infected. Aborted before when the spyware
infected files overcame files scanned. Has been scanning
(rescanning?) c:\\program files\common files\gmt for over
ten minutes. This is my kids machine and it was bogged
down with popups.

The program downloaded onto my other Dell machine did a
quickscan in under 5 minutes and found 2 infections.

Get HijackThis.exe from
http:/www.tomcoyote.com/hjt/HijackThis.exe

Save it then Open it and SCAN your system then SAVE LOG
and send me the HijackThis log as an attachment. You can
try just copying it and pasting it into a reply here but I
might not see it. I should be able to identify the problem
(s) and tell you how to get rid of it(them) for good.
