More error messages from Norton 05

When I tried to do a simple live update on my laptop, I got the following
error messages <LU 1608> then another error <LU 6004> would pop up and the
download was unsuccessful. I went to my desktop and the update came through
with no problems. Anyone know something about this? Thanks

alas, i can be of no help -- only second your problem. going to the
symantec "support" page:

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...e=english&module=LU&error=6004&build=Symantec

and following all instructions leads nowhere. anyone else? any
solutions?
(running norton internet security 2005 on win2k).
