More CD Problems

I'm having cd problems as well. I can't get my computer to read cd's. Only
I have a new twist. My cd will read blank or burned cd's, just not anything
that comes "factory" or already written. I've done every "fix" I can find
on here, deleted the drive about a hundred times, and nothing changes it.
Anyone have any idea why it only reads the disks it reads??

Sigh. Yes. Been here done this. In fact, having spent 24 hours getting XP to
finally recognise a new LiteOn drive, it refused to recognise any disc at
all - blank/data/audio/etc etc. Put it in our old 98 machine, and had it up
and running within 30 minutes. What a mess MS have made WRT CD/DVD drives in
XP.
