Montior Problem

Ok here is my problem.

When I turn on my PC sometimes the monitor does not work and sometimes it
does but after 5 minutes it switches off again.
I have check my video card fan and all seems fine.

Can someone help me?
Is there a piece of software I can buy to help me diagnose it?

check the monitor on another computer...
if it does the same thing there...it's just plain bad.
time for a new one
 
There is NO software that would help you diagnose the problem. The correct
procedure is to substitute out parts to see if that fixes it. First either
replace the monitor or the video card with a known working one. See if that
fixes it. If not, substitute out the other one.
