Hi,

Can anyone help with the following:

I have a line chart showing monthly data points for 6 years. The X-axis
labels only shows the month of July for each year. What I'd like to do is -
indicate in the chart the annual revenue for each of the 6 years (ie. a
series of 6 data points). Is there any way to include these data points and
be appropriately spaced within the chart?

You can add the points, then change the new series to the XY Scatter
type (right click on the series, choose Chart Type, follow the dialog).
Depending on what the Line chart used for dates, you may be able to use
the same primary category axis. If not, you can double click the new
series, click the Axis tab, and select Secondary. This gives you a
secondary Y axis. Right click the chart, choose Chart Options, and on
the Axes tab, check the secondary X axis, and uncheck the secondary Y if
you don't need it. Then format the scale of the secondary X axis to
align the two series. You can hide the secondary axis later by double
clicking it, and on the Patterns tab, selecting None for Tick Labels.

Thanks Jon,

Your advice helped. However, I used the 'bar chart' type to chart from the
secondary x-axis.

You can always tweak the XY values of the scatter chart series to
maneuver it into position.
