Pagefile Padawan

Hey,
My Pagefile on my work station is 1.5 GIGS.
This is just a fancy HW dependent swapfile right?

I want to backup the workstation to a single CDROM sized
ghost image.

Can anybody tell me if I delete the pagefile will it
recreate itself when I bring it back on the same machine??

Assuming you can delete it, yes it will recreate. I delete my pagefile all the
time and do not have any trouble when I reboot.

The pagefile doe NOT need to be backed-up. Neither does the hibernation
file, for that matter. If you are using Norton GHOST, check out the command
line options. There is one to exclude files of your choice. The following
is a GHOST script that I run to backup C:\ to CD-sized imgaes on D:\.
Below that is a coipy of the exclude file. Note that XP is on C:\; D:| is
just scratch space on a separate disk. Occassionally I write the images to
CD, but not every time.

The following is on one line in my batch file:

GHOSTPE.EXE -CLONE,MODE=PDUMP,SRC=1:1,DST=D:\CCOMP000.GHO -FX -SPLIT=640 -SP
AN -AUTO [email protected] -Z

(The -SKIP=... is not an email address, even if Oulook Express thinks it is
one.)

The contents of my skipfile.txt are as follows:

\PAGEFILE.SYS
\HIBERFIL.SYS
\TEMP\
\WINDOWS\TEMP\
