Long story...
My wife's Samsung 17" CRT flat screen Syncmaster 753DF is going bad. It
gets the "jiggles" when cold, the image shaking, jiggling until warm-up.
When warmed up, it comes & goes randomly. Turns out that Samsung was
willing to RMA it. So a re-manufactured replacement is on the way.
Meanwhile to test it, just to be sure it was the monitor, I switched with
her. My monitor is a Samsung 17" CRT flat screen Syncmaster 700IFT (older
one, discontinued), a much nicer, higher res model. She is blown away by
it's sharpness, color, & brightness. She is unwilling to give it up once
the refurbished replacement arrives. =)
So I ordered new 19" Samsung from newegg.com. We can't afford top of the
line. This model Max / Optimal resolution: 1920x1440 @ 65 Hz / 1600x1200 @
76 Hz. After ordering it I reviewed the invoice & noticed that it is a
SyncMaster 997DF. DF!?!!?!
I am now worried that I am getting a larger version of the 753DF. It does
not appear to be a larger version of the 753DF, as it is can be ran at
1900x1440 res. There is a 955DF that has a max res of 1600x1200.
Anyone have any experience with this SAMSUNG SyncMaster 997DF? Should I
just send it back unopened? Any suggestions to a good CRT monitor?
