HELP!!
My computer was shut off while I was on it. Now I turn it
on and now my display is all messed up. It looks like
windows is too big to fir fully on the screen. The ends
of the display are also concaved. What happened? All my
icons are bigger also. When I pull up an internet page,
my minimize and close buttons are so far off the screen
that I can't see them.

HELP!!

Reinstall the graphics card driver.

Do you have a install disk for your video card? If not, only you can find
out what type/brand of card you have, and then go to the manufacturer's
website, and download/install the latest drivers that work with XP. If you
do have the disk, and use it, you more than likely will have to go to the
site anyway and update.

.I have done all that and no help. I even uninstalled
the drivers and re-installed them from the disk. nothing
has helped.

New video card?

Does it show in the Device Manager at all? it will either have an ! mark, or
nothing at all if it is history. You may aslo try removing from its slot,
and see if it is dirty, or that it somehow was not seated all the way.
Remove the device from the Device manager totally, then turn off the PCs
power, lpen the case of the tower, and be sure you ground the metal casing
of the box by touching it before handling it right off, this will remove any
static left over. Try removing, and reseating the card, reboot, reinstall
the drivers, post back.

It is not a new card. was working good until the plug
was pulled while I was on it. Now it seems as if my
screen setting are screwed up. Have check all and cannot
find the problem.

Did you try my suggestions with removing and replacing the card?

replacing the card?

He didn't mention going to Control Panel | Display and
checking the color settings, etc.?
Also, I've seen those symptoms when a TV card gets
the wrong TV Out settings sent to the monitor instead
of the TV out connector.
