monitor won't come out of standby

When I hit the spacebar to turn on the system, the
hardrive comes back on but not the monitor.

Hey mark,

to get your computer to fully return out of stand by you need to press the
power button on your computer for approximately 3 seconds

It`s only happened once to me but I had to unplug the mon. The on-off sw
didn`t work.
