Monitor will not suspend after booting

Hello.

I recently reinstalled my Win2K Pro OS on my computer.
Since the reinstall, the monitor will not suspend after
booting unless I go into the power settings and simply
click "OK." All of my power settings are there, but it
seems like the computer is not loading those settings
until I explicitly go into the power settings.

This has never been a problem before and I am experienced
with reformatting and reinstalls. I have gone back to see
if there was anything I am missing but nothing seems
readily apparent.

If it is at all pertinent, I am using an AMD Duron 650
with 768 megs of RAM, a Gigabyte board, and an nVidia TNT2
video card.

Any suggestions? Thank you for any assistance you can
provide.

It is my experience that sometimes extra disk activity in
the background could prevent some settings from loading
(snap of a finger) just like that. You might want to see
if the manufacturer of your monitor has any appropriate
drivers for your operating system as this could be an
issue too.
