monitor stays blank/standby

Mary Lou Daugherty

When I turn on the computer, the monitor stays blank, no
matter what I do. The monitor works on another PC. What
can I do?
 
When I saw this problem I solved it by removing the check from "allow this
device....." in (my Computer/Properties/hardware/device manager/mice and
other....../hid compliant...../power options

when ever u boot the machine do you hear a series of
beeps.. if so count the beeps and post on here. if not you
may have a dead pc....... but if u hear the beeps then u
may have a faulty video card try replacing the video card
with one you know works

As a test, try turning on the monitor only after the PC has booted.
Also be sure that both ends of the cable are snugly seated.
